Steve Plummer Plays a Morton Custom

Steve Plummer - Official Morton Guitars Artist

Steve knows a thing or two about guitars and is a highly accomplished player and performer. Now with Shardlake, Steve has recently debuted his very own Morton Guitar - one of the new "Tiger" range which he has personalised as "Lexie".

Introducing Lexie

"Lexie is a very special guitar" says Ken Morton "Steve had very specific ideas about what he wanted in his new guitar and I was very happy to deliver it for him.  He wanted a blood red rocker with Irongear pickups he chose himself, a stripped down look with no pickguard but with a specially commissioned gold truss-rod cover with the Shardlake "S" etched on it. I really enjoyed testing the guitar for a few hours in the workshop. Some guitars are hard to let go of!"

Tribute to Ian Alexander

Ken continues:  "Steve and the guys in Shardlake and I were very good friends of Ian Alexander, a friend of ours who passed away a few months ago, way too young at 56.  Ian had played with all of us in various bands before making his mark as the 'David Gilmour' in The Scottish Pink Floyd. So it was with pride, tinged with sadness, that Steve decided to name his Morton Tiger "Lexie" in Ian Alexander's memory.  This was a wonderful gesture that made this guitar so much of a pleasure for us to create.  I'd like to think that the spirit of Ian's music lives on in "Lexie" along with Steve's superlative guitar playing.
