Morton Guitars Guide to Tonewoods

For the Morton Dominator models we used Alder wood for the bodies, as favoured by many leading brand names and luthiers with classic Maple and Rosewood for the necks. 

The Morton Tiger I and Tiger II models use Limewood for the bodies, with Maple and Rosewood for the necks.  Limewood is a great Tonewood for guitars and is favoured by some top end manufacturers for the signature models they build for artists such as: Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. 

Limewood has a similar grain structure to Alder and Maple however, unlike mahogany, there are no concerns about its long term commercial sustainability.
